Lucid’s first electric vehicle doesn’t cost what you think it does – the company revealed basic pricing information for the Air on its blog, basically just to mute speculation that its price tag would begin north of $100,000. The Lucid Air’s actual price will start at $60,000, hitting $52,500 once you apply the federal tax credit for EV buyers. That’s for the… Read More

It was a direct reply, but when the world’s second largest restaurant chain slides into the Trump’s mentions to call him “a disgusting excuse of a President,” people are going to take notice. And screenshot the hell out of it. Billions and billions served, indeed. McDonald’s has since deleted a tweet reading, “@realDonaldTrump You are actually a… Read More
The presidents budget request for NASA is out, and it looks like the space program wont be dealing with as many of the extreme cuts that other federal agencies are facing next year. Released this morning, the request would give NASA $19.1 billion for fiscal year 2018, roughly $200 million less than the $19.3 billion the agency received for 2016. The request keeps NASA on more or less the same path the agencys been on for the last seven years, though it does propose a few big shakeups including some fairly harsh cuts to NASAs Earth science and education programs.
In a statement, Acting NASA Administrator Robert Lightfoot said the proposal is in line with our funding in…
Lucid Motors has revealed the pricing of the Lucid Air, the California companys all-electric car that was unveiled in December. Lucid says it will charge $60,000 for a 400-horsepower, rear-wheel drive version of the sedan, which will have 240 miles of range. The company is currently taking (refundable) $2,500 reservation deposits, but the car isnt scheduled to ship until 2019.
The base model Lucid Air will have all hardware necessary for autonomous driving, according to Lucid, but the company steers clear of saying whether it will cost more to activate the feature. It will also come with 19-inch wheels, power seats, a 10-speaker audio system, and three touchscreens.
LG really wants you to buy a G6, so much so that its willing to throw in a complimentary Google Home. The company confirmed today that the phone will be available through T-Mobile starting on April 7th for $650. (This comes out to $26 down and $26 monthly payments over 24 months.) If you buy before April 30th, youll also get a free Google Home.
As a reminder, LG debuted the G6 at Mobile World Congress last month. It features a 5.7-inch display, dual cameras, and a rear fingerprint sensor. On the downside, it includes Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor, as opposed to the new 835. But still, its a sleek-looking phone at the very least.
One of the most anticipated SXSW panels of this year featured Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. They are responsible for producing the televised conclusion to George R.R. Martins sprawling, wildly popular fantasy series, and the audience in Austin was hungry to hear new details. With a packed crowd in the ballroom and a line that snaked through the convention center down a staircase to a lower floor, fans were salivating for even a sliver of information to hold them over until the season premiere in July. Oh and perhaps some insight into that ill-fated ice block live stream reveal.
Instead, the crowd got a cheery trip down memory lane, replete with Entertainment Tonight-style behind-the-scenes anecdotes and…

Staring into an active volcano full of bubbling lava is one of those things that sounds enticing, but is probably better to witness from afar. A boiling pool of molten rock is surely majestic in real life, but Im not sure how much I can withstand the pungent scent of sulfur.
So now, thanks to the Google Street View team, you can virtually explore the lava lake in Ambryn, Vanuatu an island in a remote part of the South Pacific Ocean. Google sent a pair of explorers to capture 360-degree images in the crater, letting you get so close, you can almost smell the volcanic gases (or at least, see it fume up from the lava).
“Standing at the edge and feeling the heat lick your skin is phenomenal,” team member Chris Horsley told Google. “I hope…
The European Commission (the executive arm of the EU) has launched a new initiative to encourage whistleblowers to step forward. A whistleblowing hotline including an email address, phone number, and encrypted web form will allow individuals to anonymously report price-fixing cartels and other anti-competitive practices.
In a press statement, Margrethe Vestager, head of competition policy, said: “If people are concerned by business practices that they think are wrong, they can help put things right. Inside knowledge can be a powerful tool to help the Commission uncover cartels and other anti-competitive practices. With our new tool it is possible to provide information, while maintaining anonymity.
Iron Fist, the latest in Netflixs string of Marvel superhero shows, arrives on Netflix March 17th. It should serve just fine as the standalone story of Danny Rand, a superhero trained in mystical martial arts. But the shows story is richer if you know its elaborate setup. Iron Fist is the fourth and final Netflix series leading up to team-up show The Defenders.
The Defenders are the Netflix equivalent of The Avengers, and like Marvels films, they are a massive media investment: the three other superhero shows span four seasons with 13 episodes each. Thats 52 hours of binge watching. Even if youve watched everything, you may need a refresher.
And if youre just joining the program? Well, heres what you need to know.
The Galaxy Tab S3, Samsungs latest flagship Android tablet, will be available next week. Pre-orders start tomorrow at Best Buy, Amazon, and Samsungs own site, and the device will be in stores on Friday, March 24th. As previously leaked through Best Buy, itll cost $599.99.
That might make the Tab S3 a tough sell next to the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, a device which offers the same screen size, resolution, storage, quad-speaker array, and accessory support with a dramatically wider selection of tablet-optimized apps for the same entry price. Samsung isnt exactly going all-out with the specs, either, outfitting the Tab S3 with the same Snapdragon 820 processor found in the Galaxy S7.
The Tab S3 does come with its S Pen stylus in the box,…

The emergence of power-efficient high-performance processors has created a bright spot in the desktop PC market. The ultra-compact form factor (UCFF) heralded by the Intel NUCs has experienced rapid growth over the past few years. GIGABYTE, with their BRIX lineup, was one of the first vendors to introduce NUC clones. They went beyond the traditional Intel models and provided plenty of choices to the end users. GIGABYTE has also kept up with Intel’s release cadence and updated the BRIX lineup after the launch of new U-series CPUs. Today, we are taking a look at the GB-BKi7HA-7500 – a BRIX based on the Kaby Lake Core i7-7500U, with support for a 2.5" drive, and sporting an ASMedia bridge chip for USB 3.1 Gen 2 support.
